There are no words in the english language to describe a 14 hour flight, followed by a 3 hour layover, then another 2 hour flight on a plane held together by duct tape. David did add that the stewardesses were hot on the China domestic flight, so apparently that made his ride smooth. I was too busy praying to whatever dieties were listening to just get my family on the ground.
From the time we left our house and talked to all of you, it was 26 hours later before we checked into our hotel.
Yup, the whole family made it to bed at 11:00 p.m. china time (11:00 a.m. today at home) We were all up at 3:45 a.m. here..... too excited to sleep.
On our way from the airport to the (gorgeous) hotel, the guide told us that we need to be ready today at 9:00 a.m. to go and get the babies. Cuz......... after 27 hours of travel, I LIKE a coronary, LOL!! There is an onslaught of ads and sounds and smells that I have NEVER seen/heard/smelled before, and I am so disoriented, but I think I'll be fine after a nights sleep. Which I won't get with the new baby ;)
David is tired, but happy (WTF?) and Mom is just plain tired, and Abby is on OVERDRIVE and attacking the room fridge goodies.
Well, since we were up at 3:45, we have the bag all set with diaps and wipes and all the baby accoutrements, we're dressed, and have had instant coffee.
Being the little scout that I am, I alredy tried to charge the cameras, although the adapter that we got didn't work, and instead I saw my expesive battery pack for my Koday burst into flames and black smoke.
Oooops. Thankfully everything else is charged, so I just have to buy a manual battery for my camera and then ask the concierge about new adapters.
At 4:00 this morning I was taking a shower and shaking... I can't believe that after all this time, it's finally happening.
Okay, we leave in three hours to get the baby (!!!) and then do paperwork the rest of the day and play and panic and laugh and cry.
I will post more tonight, hopefully with pictures, as long as I don't burn the room up.
Loves to all of you, thank you for all of your help, and stay safe!
Mary, David, Abby, and Evie

Well we are all glad that you made it there and actually you are probably with little Evie as of when i am writing this message. About the battery adapter... I am still laughing!!! Glad to hear that everything is going well and can't wait for you all to come home!! Congratualtions and hugs and kisses to Evie. Walker says hello to Abby.
Ditto what Sarah said - you're probably already with Evie by now!!! OMG, I can't believe it's finally here, you're finally meeting the newest addition to the fam.
Hope travel went well for all - what's this about a snack fridge? Tell me the kid isn't hitting the mini bar already, LOL.
Now tell us about the hotel. Is it gorgeous? What are the rooms like - beautiful? You know I'm just teasing...
Try not to burn the gorgeous hotel down, and love to you, David, Mom, Abs and Evie!!! (And Happy Father's Day to David)
woohoo!!! I'm so excited heheh I can't wait to see pics of the kidlette sans the ginormous snowsuit. ohhh I've had an extra fire extinguisher sent to the room LOL *W*
I can't believe you actually made it through the flight without going crazy.
I think I speak for everyone when I say...We need pictures!!! Baby pics, the hotel, Abby & the mini bar, everything & anything :)
Glad you are all safe and sound. Sounds like an exhausting ordeal with the travel. How's your mom making out?
Hey so much for Kodak technology... I'm glad I didn't let you take my Universal Translator with you... expensive toys and Star Fleet inventory is low; couldn't afford to pay them back.
