The mood swings, the tantrums, the screaming, the hugs 2 seconds later like nothing ever happend. If its this bad now, at almost 9, what the HELL am I going to do when she hits 13?
No, honestly, someone needs to tell me what I'm going to do here. Abby is like my best friend, but I might consider boarding school if this keeps up.

Hi,
I am an old woman now but my lovely daughter went through this at eleven. By the time she got to thirteen she was over the big surge and it went pretty smoothly. I created things for her to rebel against such as declaring I hated a certain pair of socks. She would be thrilled when I pleaded, 'You really aren't going to wear those socks are you?'
Because she was young, she was pretty unsophisticated in her defiance and it made it so much easier to deal with. At thirteen I am sure I was a total pain.
